When I was growing up in Michigan, I remember thinking to myself one day how crazy it was that I was shoveling something off of our driveway that other people didn't even have.
We had just experienced an insane snowstorm and it was so thick that even our snowblower wouldn't work, so we went out and did it by hand.
You have a lot of time to think about things when you're shoveling a driveway like that. It's dark, freezing cold and your mind begins to wander. And that night, I remember my mind trying to comprehend how there could be this much snow, yet no two snowflakes are the same.
How could that be?
But as I reflect on it now, and I think about the other 7.8 billion people here, it begins to make sense. Just like snowflakes, no two of us are the same. We each have our own hopes, fears, dreams and aspirations. Our lives may be similar in length, but they range vastly in experiences, giving each of us a unique perspective that is completely our own.
