Story:
When I was younger, I remember reading Dr. Seuss with my parents before I went to bed. Now, as I’ve grown older, I’ve been able to read it to younger family members of mine. Not only are the books whimsical, colorful, and catchy, but they actually teach some very valuable lessons. One of my favorite quotes being from Oh, The Places You’ll Go!

“You have brains in your head, feet in your shoes, you can steer yourself any direction you choose”

Those words have really stuck with me over the years. I laugh when I think about how words from a children’s book can be so simple, yet so meaningful. Throughout life, many of us often complicate our futures with worries and fears about where we are going. Are we in the right career? Have we achieved the goals we set for ourselves when we were young and optimistic? What’s our next step in life? Sometimes all it takes is a silly reminder from a kid’s book to reassure us that if we believe in ourselves and our capabilities, the sky is the limit as to where we can go.
