Story
I used to have really big ideas that never really came to life. I once wanted to be a hairdresser – I got one of those Barbie heads to practice doing hair on but gave up when it got hard or boring. Then, I wanted to learn tennis. I made it one hour at tennis camp in the middle of summer with no-see-ums swirling around my head before I quit because it was hot, gross, and difficult. I will say, I think I was in the wrong age bracket for that tennis camp because everyone was already so good!
Anyway, the point is, I found myself giving up before things got good just because I encountered a difficulty. Growing up and finding new hobbies meant I was going to need to get over that little habit. I began to challenge myself to see things through to completion once I started a project. No matter which hiccups I faced, I found a way around them to get to the end goal. It was so rewarding – such a good feeling – to finally finish something and be proud of it.
Fears don’t have to be roadblocks, and, frankly, they shouldn’t be treated that way. Your fears should be fuel to stay on track. If you experience failure, that means you’re trying. The end result will be so worth the struggle. Let this ZOX fuel your fire.
Be bold,
Landri
