Find Your Paradise

What does paradise mean to you? Is it a secluded beach with soft white sand and turquoise waters? A bustling city street full of life and energy? A quiet cabin in the woods, surrounded by the peaceful sounds of nature?

Lets be honest, all those places sound amazing. But I believe true paradise is a lot more than physical surroundings. In fact, Merriam-Webster defines it as a place or state of bliss, felicity, or delight.

I like that it mentions paradise is a state - not just a place. I think that's a really interesting concept to ponder - what if we carry our paradise within us, and it's more about how we feel than where we are?

The Stoic philosopher Seneca once said:
"It is not the man who has too little, but the man who craves more, that is poor."

I think this quote perfectly captures the essence of where my mind has been on this topic lately. Our sense of fulfillment and contentment – our personal paradise – isn't dependent on external factors, but rather on our internal state of being.

Paradise then, in its purest sense, is really where you feel most authentically you, exactly as you are.

I think that's so important to recognize how this plays out in your own life. It's so easy to get caught up in this 'grass is always greener' mentality where we say "if only I was someplace / had something else, I'd be happy."

I think it's more about finding peace and satisfaction within ourselves, regardless of our circumstances.

In fact, I think that's so important that I put a similar sentiment on the back of the card for this one: Paradise isn't a place, it's a feeling. Be happy with yourself and you'll find happiness anywhere you go.

This self-discovery is a journey - full of challenges and beauty. It's like exploring an uncharted island packed with hidden treasures just waiting to be discovered.

As we embark on this journey, we may find that our paradise is not one fixed place, but it changes and evolves as we do. Maybe your paradise is a quiet moment with a book, a thrilling adventure, or creating something beautiful. Maybe it's a place, a person, a memory, or even a dream. Whatever it is, it's uniquely yours.

This design is near and dear to my heart as it's one I made with my mom while we were in Hawaii.

Was I inspired by the beauty of where I was? You bet!

But it was the realization that hit me as I sat with my family there that truly made it special: What really made me happy wasn't where I was, it was who I was with.
