When I was writing the card for this design, I couldn't help but think about my very first dog - Duke.
My parents adopted Duke right before I was born and he was an interesting breed, to say the least. His sister was adopted by my Aunt Marilyn and looked like Lassie, yet Duke, for some reason, looked like a wolf - a mix of German Shepard and husky.
Duke was my best bud growing up - in fact most of the earliest pictures of me have Duke in the background, protecting me from everything I didn't know about at that age.
Duke passed away when I was young, Maybe 9 or 10. But it was that bond I had with him that still, to this day, impacts the way I see the world around me.
And that, my friend, is the point.
You see, just like I wrote on the card - true friendships are more than just a season. They're the family you choose, and by letting them in, you're allowing them to change your perspective on life, even after they're gone.
My hope for this beautiful ZOX is that it reminds you of those special relationships you have - to cherish them deeply, and remember that regardless of time, their impact stays with you forever.
