Story

Okay coffee-lovers, this one’s for you. I discovered my adoration for coffee during my college years, as most do. Growing up, I swore against it. I remember sitting on my great-grandpa’s front porch and trying his purely black coffee for the first time and despising it. From that day onward, I could’ve sworn that I would never be a coffee drinker. 

However, flash-forward 15 years to college essays, the beginning of novel writing, and final exams… Things changed pretty quickly. Instead of being a crutch, though, it served more as a starting point for most of my creative projects. I have fond memories of brewing a good cup of coffee right before sitting down to dive into the book I was writing. I began to associate hard work with a good brew.

It sounds a bit childish, but there are a lot of little things that can spur inspiration for us. Whether it be coffee, white noise, or a ZOX or two on your wrist, encouragement can arise from all around us. Whatever it is that you do, may this particularly brewtiful (apologies, I had to) single be the driving force behind that project you’ve been working on. Finish strong.
