Story
As much as I try to plan, life always has something to throw at me. It certainly shakes things up, but I can’t tell you that I enjoy it. There’s a security in trying to control your future - a sense of safety. But it wasn’t a sense of safety that encouraged me to study abroad in Italy. That trip led to many surprises, from making new life-long friendships and discovering more about how I related to the culture as a great-granddaughter of an Italian immigrant to my early departure due to the pandemic. While the trip had its good and bad surprises, it was incredible.
This Italian phrase translates to “Such is life” and I think that sentiment is something many of us carry but hardly put into practice. Accepting that life won’t go according to plan is a constant effort. However, it is rewarding to know that no matter what bad moments may come, the good ones will arrive with the same fervor.
Whether you're battling something out of your control or working to find more peace, this wristband has the perfect meaning for those trying their best to manage life and its complications. My plan wasn’t perfect, but I’ve ended up somewhere so much greater than I had imagined.
