Do you ever feel like you’re standing on the edge of a major decision? If you take a step, it feels like you’re going to either fall or fly? A few years ago, I was presented with the opportunity to study abroad. At first, it sounded amazing, but it also seemed absolutely terrifying. I’d never left the country before, especially without my parents, and my thoughts immediately went to everything that could go wrong being in a foreign country on my own.

After thinking more about it, I realized I would regret it forever if I didn’t take the step and go, so I did. And now, those are some of the best memories I have. I don’t regret going at all, and I wish I had been there longer. 

The thing is: life will present us with several opportunities that will frighten us and thrill us at the same time. We can either let fear withhold us from taking them, or we can boldly step out of our limitations and discover what the world has to offer. Some opportunities really are once in a lifetime – more in the way that we’ll never be in this exact position at this exact age again than whether or not we’ll be presented with it again.

Maybe you’re standing on the edge of a major decision right now, and fear’s whispering in your ear. If the door is open for you to step through, I hope you do. I hope you consider all the amazing things that could happen on the other side and take the bold step to go through the door.
