Flash-forward a year later on my birthday, I was given a sweet, little black cat that I named Pumpkin. (Full name being Pumpkin Spiced Latte, since her shelter name had been Latte)!\u003cbr\u003eThis ZOX, Cat Mom, is a love letter to all of the feline companions that have shared our lives and our hearts. The artwork showcases different types of cats, each with their own unique cuteness and quirks, just like in real life.\u003cbr\u003eAre you a cat mom? If so, then you know cats are much more nuanced than people give them credit for; they often get a bad rap, getting labeled as mean or uncaring creatures. Cats can be the sweetest, most loving pets that you could choose to spend your life with – you’ll experience nightly cuddles like you wouldn’t believe and playful moments that you can’t help smiling at.\u003cbr\u003eCats most definitely choose us, it’s true what they say – their love can come all at once or over time, but once they choose you, prepare to never be alone again. Every birthday, every Christmas, every holiday in which gift giving was involved I hoped and prayed to receive a dog. Eventually, my dad finally gave in and allowed the search for a puppy to begin. We looked at all different breeds and rescue organizations near and far. One Saturday we decided to venture about an hour away from our house to go check out some puppies we had seen online that caught our eye. When we reached the shelter, we all gathered around the pen in which the puppies were being held. They were curious, a little mischievous, and cuter than ever. My dad pulled one out of the pen, laid her in his arms like a baby and the first thing she did was give him a big kiss across his face. At that moment we knew she was the pup for us. Fast forward 9 years later and my girl still hasn't left my side. Before having a dog, I never knew what joy could come from our furry friends. When I walk in the door, if I don't give her immediate attention she howls to remind me that she’d like to be greeted. She takes up the whole bottom of my bed, and snores easily as loud as any human. She’s a California girl, just like me, and is her happiest when she’s basking in the sun in the backyard. I couldn't imagine my life any other way. Born just a little before me, Duke was a stunning German Shepherd Husky mix who, despite looking like a majestic white wolf, was the gentlest soul you could ever meet.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eDuke was my dad's dog, but I like to think of him as my very first companion. He had a profound impact on my life, teaching me invaluable lessons about loyalty, compassion, and the bond between humans and animals - something that's so powerful it's nearly impossible to put into words.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eOne thing I'll always remember about Duke was his unwavering loyalty. Whether I was coming home from school or returning from a long trip, Duke would always be there to greet me, his tail wagging and his eyes sparkling with joy. He was a constant reminder that, in a world full of uncertainties, there are some things you can always count on - like the unconditional love of a pet.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eDuke's gentle nature was another lesson in itself. Though he had the strength and size to be intimidating, he chose instead to approach everyone - humans and animals alike - with kindness and curiosity. He was never aggressive, and his demeanor reminded me of a quote by the poet and philosopher, Rumi:\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\"Raise your words, not your voice. It is rain that grows flowers, not thunder.\"\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eMan, I love that.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eDuke's example taught me the power of gentleness, and the importance of treating others with kindness and understanding.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eFinally, Duke taught me that life is all about cherishing the simple moments. Whether it was playing fetch in the backyard or curling up together on a cold winter's night, Duke showed me that happiness can be found in the most ordinary of circumstances, and that it's often the smallest things that make the biggest impact on our lives.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eAs the author, John Grogan, wrote in his book Marley \u0026amp; Me:\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\"Animals have a way of finding the people who need them, and filling an emptiness we didn't ever know we had.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eDuke was one of those animals, and his presence in my life left an incredible mark on my heart. Think about the last time you heard someone laugh out in public, someone you didn’t even know, but just the sound of their joy made you smile. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eI remember complaining about a bad grade one time, it really had me down in the dumps, and I complained about it to my best friend as we walked through our college courtyard. We’d just reached the cafeteria when an obnoxiously hilarious laugh sounded from a table of friends a few steps away from us. Just the sound of their laughter, the sound of their happiness and positivity, made me crack a smile and momentarily forget about my woes.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eI hope that with this strap, you remember the power of positivity. The original designs sold out years ago and I've wanted to find a way to bring it back ever since. We've had so many new Zoxers join into our family since it sold out and so many requests to make a new version. With Singles, we're finally able to bring this back in a way everyone will love. Starry Night is a painting by the Dutch post-impressionist artist Vincent van Gogh. Painted in June 1889, it depicts the view outside of his sanitarium room window at Saint-Rémy-de-Provence (located in southern France) at night, although it was painted from memory during the day. It has been in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York City, part of the Lillie P. Bliss Bequest, since 1941.
